The Eagle
Having a pint of Guinness in a pub called The Eagle, due north of Ladbroke Grove Tube. I've ended up here because I wanted to go shopping at a big supermarket nearby, and I reckoned I could get out, walk a bit and surely find some decent pub with a few asked on tap.
Unfortunately The Eagle seems to be very much a local. I don't have anything against locals, at least if they have decent beers. This one is limited to your Carlsberg Cold, Guinness Extra Cold, and presumably frozen beersicles. It's also got a helping of local flavor, and it would seem the lager is the cheapest on draught, based on the empties.
Ah well, it's a new one for me. I shouldn't give The Alice House such a hard time. It is my proper local, and it has Camden beer on tap too. I guess the "Camden" in the beer instilled an aversion to it in me, but that's unfair. Pleasant people, a doorman to keep out the riff raff, and the beers aren't ludicrously priced, all things considered. I'll make a note--maybe give it a shot next weekend then.

Back on it
London got snow today. I finished up with work and then headed to Green Park, before walking via Trafalgar Square, taking some pictures in the snow and then getting an Indian wrap in SoHo. Afterwards I hit up the British Museum for a quick look at the Rosetta Stone, then headed on back to the flat for an evening hanging out somewhere warm. Was a good plan!
Tomorrow, maybe some movies and a little bit of work. Not the most exciting day, but can accomplish something on a Saturday for once.
